About the Arteon
Manufactured by the German car company Volkswagen (or VW for short), the Arteon is a large family car that debuted in 2017.
Available as either a 5-door liftback or as a 5-door estate, the Arteon was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show for Europe, then later at the Chicago Auto Show for America.
Replacing the VW CC, the new Arteon had more upmarket materials and was based upon the MQB platform; a platform shared with other vehicles like the VW Touran, VW Passat, VW Lamando, VW Golf (Sportvan and Mk7), the VW Atlas, Skoda Superb, Skoda Octavia, SEAT Leon, Audi TT, Audi Q2 and the Audi A3.
Following unspecified issues with the emissions tests, the Arteon was delayed upon its launch, halting sales until 2019 and by 2020, VW gave the vehicle a facelift.
Customers could purchase the Arteon as a 1.5-liter or 2-liter petrol engines, 1.4-liter petrol plug-in hybrid or a 2-liter diesel; all of which could be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, 7-speed DSG or an 8 speed automatic.
Built within Emden, Lower Saxony in Germany, the new Arteons received an impressive five stars for safety by Euro NCAP, with 96% awarded to adult occupants and 85% for both children and pedestrians alike.
The Arteon won the Golden Steering Wheel Award in 2017 and then the Tow Car Awards in 2019 as an overall winner. Some usual fault codes are as follows:
- P0183 – The fuel temperature circuit voltage is set too high.
- P0108 – This code means that there is an input problem with the pressure sensor circuit.
- P0301 – A misfire in cylinder 1 has been detected, this is extremely serious and driving should halt immediately.
- P0868 – A generic code that detects an issue with the transmission fluid pressure.
