About the Tucson
Launching in 2004, the Tucson is a compact crossover sport utility vehicle manufactured by the South Korean automaker Hyundai.
Taking its name from the city in Arizona, Tucson, these cars have been sold globally in several markets like Europe, China and Australia. With over 7 million units sold to date, the Tucson is Hyundai’s most successful SUV.
First generations offered three trim levels, the GLS, SE and the Limited; the latter offered a plethora of premier features such as remote keyless entry, premium upholstery, CD player, electronic stability control and air conditioning.
Shortly after its release, the Tucson received commendations for its safety package along with a number of awards such as Canadian car of the year.
For the second generation, Hyundai had completely restyled the chassis which now had a sloping yet angular front grille and body-colored bumpers.
Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, fuel efficiency, comfort and power output had all been upgraded.
Powertrains included a 1.6-liter, 2-liter and 2.4-liter petrols with two diesel offerings which could all be coupled with either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
