About the Kicks
Built as a subcompact crossover SUV, the Kicks launched in 2016 intended for worldwide sales.
Created by the Japanese company Nissan, the Kicks was used in Brazil to help promote the Summer Olympics (where the automaker was the lead sponsor).
Sold in Northern America in 2018, the Kicks had a number of standard features like hands-free calling, audio streaming, a touchscreen, USB ports and a rear camera.
Higher-tier models received Apple Car Play, Android Auto, an updated infotainment system and a Bose sound system.
For 2020, Nissan released the Kicks e-Power in Thailand.
Benefitting from a 1.2-liter petrol engine with an EM57 electric motor, the e-Power was a series hybrid without a plug.
2021 saw a facelift for the standard Kicks, and for this Nissan copied the styling of the e-Power including LED headlights and a large front grille.
Transmission only came as a 5-speed manual with a 1.5-liter and 1.6-liter petrol engines and a 1.2-liter petrol hybrid.
Following testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the Kicks received ‘Good’ scores for nearly all categories.
If discounting the hybrid version, the Kicks had a number of alternatives for customers to consider, namely the Chevy Trailblazer, Toyota Corolla Cross, Hyundai Venue, Buick Encore, Jeep Renegade, Chevrolet Trax, Fiat 500X, Ford EcoSport, Kia Rio Hatchback, Kia Seltos and the Kia Soul.
Some of the following codes are common in the Kicks:

- P0448 – This fault code shows a problem with an electrical short and stands for evaporative emissions vent control short circuit.
- P0776 – Registered by the car’s PCM, this fault code relates to an issue with the electric pressure control.
