About the Telluride

Built as a mid-sized crossover sports utility vehicle, the Telluride was launched by the South Korean car company Kia.

Selling onwards from 2019, the Telluride has three rows of seating and was first debuted at the North American International Auto Show.

Inspired by the famous fashion designer Brandon Maxwell, this car is part of his Texas collection and directly followed the New York Fashion Week in September 2018.

Four drive modes help with the terrain, with the ability to manually select between Smart, Eco, Sport and Comfort the driver can get the best performance from the vehicle depending upon the road.

Equal to the drive modes, there were four trim levels, the LX, S, EX and the SX; the last of which can be paired with the ‘Prestige Package’ allowing for some top-level features.

Some technologies installed in the Telluride are a wireless phone charging tray, Harman Kardon speaker system, ten speakers, both heated and ventilated seats and ‘driver Talk,’ a system that allows for communication between the front and third-row passengers.

As a large premium vehicle capable of seating a high number of passengers, the Telluride has some competition such as the Hyundai Santa Fe, Dodge Durango, Mazda CX-9, Subaru Ascent, Chevrolet Traverse, Honda Pilot, Jeep Grand Cherokee or the Hyundai Palisade, Volkswagen Atlas.

The Telluride can show the following fault codes:

  • P0741 – This can be displayed due to a number of reasons, this code means that the torque converter clutch circuit performance is poor.
  • P0456 – Signaling a very small leak found in the evaporative system.
  • P0301 – A misfire in cylinder one.
  • P0463 – An inaccurate fuel level reading was detected by the powertrain control module.
  • P0461 – There is a performance issue with the fuel level sensor.
