About the Santro

Created by the South Korean car automaker Hyundai, the Sonata is fundamentally a city car.

First models sold from 1998 up until 2014, then, following a brief hiatus, a revised version appeared back in dealerships four years later.

Built predominantly for the Indian market, the name Santro is a derivative of the French town St Tropez, so as to promote a stylish vibe.

Sold in Europe as the Atos Prime, and in Indonesia as the Kia Visto, the Santro enjoyed its revival in 2018 and sat just under the Hyundai i10.

For drivers looking for alternatives to the Santro, there were a number of vehicles available, like the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Renault Kwid, Datsun redi-Go and the Tata Tiago.

Later Santro models were powered by a 1.1-liter Epsilon G4HG petrol producing 69 bhp, with the transmissions providing either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic manual. #

Following Global NCAP crash tests, the Santro only scored two out of a potential five stars for adult safety, and the same for children.

• P0340 – Shows a problem with the camshaft position sensor. This could be the result of faulty wires or the actual; sensor is broken.
• P0113 – People usually see this error when there is a sensor issue, specifically with the intake air temperature.
• P0106 – Caused by a number of reasons, this code relates to the manifold air pressure barometric pressure sensor.
• P0301 – This could be a problem with a worn out or faulty spark plug, this will lead to a cylinder misfiring.
• P0030 – Altering the driver to the engine’s primary oxygen sensor, this code indicates a malfunction.
