About the Palisade
Created by the Hyundai Motor Company since 2018, the Palisade is a mid-sized crossover sports utility vehicle.
Succeeding the Maxcruz, the vehicle is built within two factories, the South Korean Ulsan plant, and the Russian Kaliningrad.
This Palisade is exclusively a 5-door car available as a front-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive.
Unveiled first at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Palisade is the largest passenger vehicle in the Hyundai lineup and takes its name from a number of cliffs found in the Pacific Palisades in California.
Three rows of seating allow for the transportation of up to eight people and for the Northern American market, there are four trim levels available; the SE, SEL, Limited and Calligraphy.
There are just three engine variants, a 3.5-liter, 3.8-liter petrol and a 2.2-liter diesel; all of which are mated to an 8-speed A8LF1/A8LF2 automatic transmission.
Visitors to the New York International Auto Show in 2022 saw the newly facelifted Palisade, with changes made to the front end, a larger satellite navigation system and an updated infotainment system.
As a large vehicle, the Palisade has some weight competition from other brands’ substantial vehicles, namely the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Audi Q5, BMW X4, Ford Everest, Jaguar F-Pace, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Kia EV6 and the Land Rover Discovery.
Some common error codes for the Palisade are:
- C1259 – Shown if the power switch registers as ‘on’ with the HV battery service plug disconnected.
- P1159 – Triggered by the sensor that registers oxygen in the exhaust system.
- P0108 – The barometric pressure sensor points to t high voltage problem.
- P0106 – A problem with the CMAP circuit and its output range.
- P0139 – The ECM is showing that the sensor response is too slow.
