About the Aura
Sold by the South Korean Car manufacturer Hyundai, the Aura is a subcompact sedan with four doors and a five-speed transmission.
Created for the Indian market, the Aura has a number of technological features such as a touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and a wireless charging facility.
Hyundai used the Hyundai-Kia K1 platform, which it also shares with the Hyundai Santro, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and the Hyundai Casper.
There are some usual fault codes found with the Aura:
- P0497 – This fault code can signify different problems in different engines. Relating to the EVAP system, code P0497 can cause issues with fuel efficiency and emissions. Although the car will continue to run, it will mean there might be damage surrounding the EVAP canister vent valve harness or damaged vacuum hoses.
- P0301 – In contrast to the above, this is a serious fault code and upon seeing it, drivers are advised to switch off the vehicle and seek out a mechanic quickly. Pointing to cylinder 1 misfiring, this fault code can be triggered by faulty spark plugs, a distributor failure or a general vacuum leak.
- P0030 – Signifying an issue with the oxygen sensor, this error code shows when the engine control module finds a problem in the heater circuit. This issue is usually picked up quickly because it will trigger the check engine light on the dashboard and essentially means that the ECM is having difficulty in controlling the fuel mixture.
- P0328 – Classed as a diagnostic trouble code, P0328 points to a problem with the knock sensor 1 circuit. A car’s knock sensor is responsible for detecting abnormalities in the pockets of air and fuel relating to the ignition cycle. This tells the operator that there is a high input from the bank 1 knock sensor 1 and that the voltage is too high.
