About the Golf Plus
Lasting just ten years, the Golf Plus was a car manufactured by the German car manufacturer Volkswagen.
Capable of seating five passengers, it’s classed as a compact MPV and was intended as a taller version of the standard Golf hatchback.
First seen at the Bologna Motor Show in 2004, the Golf Plus offers a comfortable raised seating position with a large capacity to carry cargo (achieved by manipulating the sliding seats and folding boot).
As one would expect, most parts were taken from the original Golf such as headrests, transmissions, engines and mirrors.
2008 saw a facelift with changes made to the front grille and headlights. A new modern system was introduced to aid with parking called the Park Assist, in addition to which a rear-view camera was installed near the badge logo.
Another version of the Golf Plus the ‘CrossGolf’ was released which differed in its external plastic cladding, this followed a pattern of the time, with other vehicles receiving the same treatment like the Cross Touran and the CrossPolo.
There are a number of vehicles that have similar capabilities to the Golf Plus and so competition came in from cars like the Skoda Roomster, VW Zafira, VW Touran, Fiat Multipla and the Honda FRV.

- P0171 – A common code that tells the driver there is too little fuel or too much oxygen in the exhaust system
- P0301 – This shows that the cylinder is misfiring, an issue that can be caused by a number of reasons such as a malfunctioning ignition or an internal engine failure.
- P0299 – Found only on cars with a turbocharge or a supercharge, this code signifies an “underboost” condition has been detected.
