About the Roomster
A small family car, the Roomster is a vehicle manufactured by the Czech Republican automaker Skoda.
Launching in 2006, the Roomster lasted a little under a decade in only one generation.
Offered as either a 5-door multi-purpose vehicle or as a 5-door panel van, the Roomster took inspiration from the concept car of the same name and was unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
Pre-facelift models had a rear sliding door to allow for easy access, which was replaced in later models by a pair of more conventional swing doors.
The engines were supplied by the Volkswagen Group and available in multiple sizes ranging from a 1.2-liter up to a 1.9-liter, all offered with the choice of either a 5-speed manual transmission, a 6-speed automatic transmission or as a 7-speed DSG.
Following Euro NCAP testing, the Roomster faired very well, receiving an overall five out of five stars, with the adult occupancy achieving the same and pedestrians having a two out of four.
The facelifted model was revealed at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show with a significantly altered front grille and fog lights.
As a van, the Roomster could hold up to 1,900 liters of cargo and was picked up by businesses predominantly in Central and Eastern European.
For customers looking for alternatives, there were cars like the Volkswagen Caddy, Honda Jazz, Kia Soul, Fiat Doblo, Citroen Berlingo Multispace, Peugeot Partner Teepee or the Renault Kangoo.
Some of the following error codes that show for the Roomster are:
- P0403 – An issue with the exhaust gas recirculation circuit.
- P1503 – This fault code means that there is an unexpected load signal originating from the DF terminal.
- P0299 – This error code is only found on vehicles with a turbocharger or supercharger and can point to an issue with the “underboost” condition.
- U0155 – When this code shows, it means that there is a lost signal between the vehicle and its instrument panel cluster.
- U0140 – Relating to the wires connected to the engine control module, this fault code is associated with the body control module.
