About the Blazer
The modern version of the Blazer first came to market in 2019. Of course, there has been only a single generation released since then. To stay up to date, Chevrolet has made minor changes to the model each year since its release.
The Blazer is currently the middle of the Chevy SUV lineup. It is considered the larger version of offerings like the Chevrolet Equinox, while remaining significantly smaller than the larger models like the Chevrolet Tahoe.
Competition in the mid-size crossover class has become very tough, which means that the model rivals the likes of the Ford Edge, Honda Passport, and Hyundai Santa Fe. However, there are many more.
One of the most commonly reported issues for the Blazer is P0440. This code indicates that there is a malfunction somewhere in the evaporative emissions control (EVAP) system.
It is important for owners to look for any other codes that relate to the EVAP system before tackling this code as they can very well be the cause.
Another problem that has been reported commonly is P0300, which is logged when multiple random misfires have been detected.
Similar to the previous code, fixing this issue typically requires owners to first address any other codes that could potentially cause misfires to occur in multiple cylinders. Owners have also reported that installing new ignition coil packs is one of the best things to try first.
Another common issue that the model has faced is P0420, which indicates that the catalytic converter is likely failing.
In most cases, this will be the result of wear over mileage. However, it is also possible that this be caused by failing oxygen sensors found before and after the catalytic converter.
