About the Envision
The compact crossover SUV, the Envision, has been manufactured by General Motors since 2014. There have only been two generations of the Chinese-manufactured model since its release, with the latest version hitting the markets in 2021.
It is currently sold only in the North American and Chinese markets. These models are almost identical, with the exception of a smaller turbocharged engine sold in China.
Some of the most common rivals for the Envision comes from the Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, and Acura RDX. However, there are plenty of others in the packed class.
In the near-decade that it has been on the market, owners have commonly reported fault code P0106 as a known problem. This code indicates that there is a problem with the MAP sensor signal.
In many cases, this will require a new cam cover because of a failed PCV. In addition to this, a failing MAP sensor can also be the culprit.
Another code that owners have suffered from is P0119, which indicates a high voltage detected from the engine coolant temperature sensor.
This can typically be caused by a faulty thermostat, failing ECT sensor, or electrical issues within the sensor circuit. The first step is usually checking the thermostat for issues.
Fault code P0113 is another temperature-related issue that the Envision is known to suffer from. This code indicates that the intake air temperature circuit is showing a high voltage.
Again, a failing IAT sensor is one of the most commonly reported causes of this issue. Thankfully, the IAT sensor is not a part of the MAF sensor for this model, which can make it both a simple and cheap fix. The sensor circuit should also be checked for any issues.
