About the 108
Launched in March 2014, the 108 is a city car made by the French car manufacturer Peugeot and replaced the earlier model, the 107.
Sharing the same floorplan with the Citroen C1 and the Toyota Aygo, the 108 sold predominantly in Europe and the United Kingdom.
Buyers could choose one of just two engine options, a 1-liter and a 1.2-liter, both petrol with no diesel variant manufactured.
Peugeot updated the interior in 2018 by changing the seat fabric but made no changes externally.
Available as either a 3-door or a 5-door hatchback all 108s were just front-wheel drive, and all were built at the Kolin Assembly plant in the Czech Republic. The plant was taken over fully by Toyota in 2021, and it was at this time the Peugeot 108 was discontinued in favor of creating the new Aygo.
Aside from the Aygo, there were a number of other small cars that gave the 108 some decent competition like the Hyundai i10, Kia Picanto, Suzuki Ignis, SEAT Mii Electric, Volkswagen Up!, Citroen C1 and the Smart EQ ForTwo.
The Peugeot 108 can show the following error codes:
- P0494 – Pointing to a problem with the engine cooling and air conditioner system, the PCM continually gathers data from this system and reports back when the reading is outside the desired range.
- P0420 – This fault code is usually triggered by an issue with the car’s exhaust or fuel system and generally means that the oxygen levels are under the desired threshold.
- P0139 – A generic code, this means that the oxygen sensor for bank one and sensor two didn’t have a voltage drop.
- P0900 – There is an open circuit in the clutch accelerator control circuit, this is found by the PCM.
- P0141 – Classed as a generic code, this points to a problem with the O2 bank 1 sensor 2 heater circuit. The sensor is found behind the catalyst.
