About the Kadjar
Developed by the French car manufacturer Renault, the Kadjar is the name given to a compact crossover sports utility vehicle.
Built alongside the Rogue Sport and Nissan Qashqai, the Kadjar replaced the aging Scenic people carrier and was unveiled at the Geneva Motor show in 2015.
Sharing the jointly owned Nissan and Renault Module Family Platform (a platform used for other cars like the Renault Kwid, Datsun Redi-Go, Renault City K-ZE, Venucia e30, Dongfeng Aeolus EX1 and the Dacia Spring Electric), the Kadjar has a wealth of modern technologies as is expected of newer vehicles, to include voice control, Bluetooth and satellite navigation.
There are a number of engine variations to choose from, including 1.2-liter all the way up to a 2-liter petrol engine and three diesels, 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7-liters in displacement mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic transmission.
Performance-wise, the Kadjar can achieve 0 to 62 mph in just under ten seconds and proves to be a fairly economical vehicle.
The moniker ‘Kadjar’ is derived from two French words, meaning ‘quad’ (to represent its off-road capabilities) and ‘jar’ (meaning agile). In 2018 the Kadjar saw a brief facelift, with small changes made to both the exterior and interior.
Sales have been successful throughout Europe, after the first year (2015) seeing 49,520 sales, figures have remade largely in the 100,000+ since then.
Drivers can sometimes find the following fault codes in this vehicle when diagnosing problems with it:
