About the Zoe
The Zoe is a five-door supermini created by the French automaker Renault.
Referred to as the Zoe E-Tech Electric since 2021, the Zoe began sales in 2012 and was built at the Flins-sur-Seine Renault Factory.
France took the first deliveries with Renault expanding the catchment area for sales to several more European countries.
Within the last ten years, the Zoe has been the best-selling all-electric car for the French market, as a result, sales reached 385,000 global sales by 2020.
Initially, the Zoe had a 22 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that could reach 130 miles on one charge; something that Renault quickly improved upon by bringing out the 41 kWh battery.
There were a number of concept vehicles that led up to the final Zoe model being released, the Zoe City Car Concept, the Zoe Concept and the Zoe Preview.
Equally, there are a number of different versions of the production model, the ZE, ZE 40 and the ZE 50, the numbers in the moniker refer to the size of the battery.
Following Euro NCAP safety tests, the Zoe scored well with an overall five stars out of a potential five with adult safety receiving an 89%.
The Renault Zoe can trigger a number of usual error codes, some of these are:
- P0510 – When a component of the throttle body performs irregularly, this error code shows.
- P0601 – There is a breakdown in communication between possibly multiple control modules.
- P0511 – This fault code can show for a number of reasons, but it points generally to an issue with the idle air control circuit.
- P0463 – The PCM has discovered inaccurate fuel level readings.
- P0138 – A generic code ultimately pointing to a lack of oxygen in the exhaust system.
