About the Titan
Created as a full-size pickup truck, the Titan was manufactured and sold by the Japanese car manufacturer Nissan.
Taking its namesake from the Titans of Greek Mythology, the Titan was first sold onwards from 2003 following four years of development by Diane Allen.
All vehicles were built with a 32-valve 5.6-liter engine as standard and were constructed upon a box ladder frame.
A number of features were fitted to the Titan, some extremely modern for the time, these included power adjustable pedals, automatic windows, a rear sonar warning system, a leather captains chair with heating, a lockable bedside storage box, XM Satellite radio, sunroof, traction control, side airbags, DVD player with screen, navigation system and Bluetooth hands-free.
Following rigorous testing by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (or NHTSA), THE Titan received five stars out of a potential five for driver frontal crash, and just one less for the passenger on all models from 2010.
Second-generation models debuted in 2015 at the North American International Auto Show. Initial plans showed a recycled chassis, but this never came to fruition after the worldwide financial crisis of 2008.
Instead, changes were made to the standard engine with a higher output in horsepower and an additional cab configuration.
Originally, the Titan could only be purchased as a two-door or a four-door, but now there were two four-door versions, a four-door extended cab, or a four-door crew cab.
