About the Rogue (incl. Sport)
A compact crossover sports utility vehicle, the Rogue is a front-engine vehicle manufactured by the Japanese automaker Nissan.
Built in a number of factories worldwide, it holds the accolade of Nissan’s best selling vehicle in Northern America.
First generations sold from 2007 and were unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on 7th January.
Known also as the Nissan Rogue Select, it was built upon the Renault-Nissan C Platform which it shares with the Nissan Lafesta, Nissan Serena/Suzuki Landy, Nissan Qashqai, Nissan Sentra and the Nissan X-Trail.
Early models offered only one engine size, a petrol 2.5-liter and scored well in most safety tests.
The Nissan Rogue can show some of the following error codes throughout its lifetime:
P0500 – Showing a problem with the vehicle speed sensor, fault code P0500 can sometimes show as ‘P050X’ depending on the model. There are a number of causes that can lead to this problem, one of the most common is a broken vehicle speed sensor. Other common causes include faulty wiring or a damaged VSS drive gear. Continued driving with this issue will ultimately result in serious engine performance problems and the speedometer could behave erratically.
P0181 – This fault code is triggered with the fuel temperature sensor A circuit shows a reading that is outside of the usual range. There can be a number of causes for this, a more simple explanation could be that the fuel is simply too cold, a worn connecter is stopping the conversation between the fuel tank and the fuel rail temperature sensor or the ECM senor itself is malfunctioning. All these causes could result in an interruption of the freezeframe data of the car just not starting. Once the issue is diagnosed, a mechanic could make the following changes to solve the problem:
- A basic visual check of all components.
- Take a fuel sample to test its temperature of it.
- Testing of the fuel heater.
- This is a very serious problem and it will inevitably lead to the car’s inability to start.
