About the EcoSport
The EcoSport first made its debut in 2003 as Ford’s entrant to the subcompact crossover SUV class. Since its release, there have been only two generations to be released. The second of these made its debut over a decade ago in 2012.
Ford announced that the EcoSport would be discontinued in 2022. This was done to make way for the Ford Maverick in the US market.
Sitting in the subcompact crossover class meant that the model faced some fierce competition. The most notable of these included the Renault Duster, Honda HR-V, and Chevrolet Trax.
Fault code P0108 is one of the most commonly reported issues that the EcoSport has faced. This code indicates that there is a high voltage from the MAP sensor.
In most cases, owners have reported that simply replacing the MAP sensor is one of the best solutions for this issue.
Another common problem that the model has suffered from is P0171. This code indicates that the engine is running too lean.
It is always important to check for other fault codes when this code is logged as they can help massively in finding the true cause of the issue. Having both P0171 and P0108 logged together can be a clear indication that the MAP is at fault.
Fault code P0316 is logged when a misfire has been detected immediately after starting the engine. This is another code that the EcoSport is known to suffer from.
Again, it is always good practice to look for additional codes that can help pinpoint the cause of this issue. In fact, P0171 and P0316 being logged together is a fairly common issue.
