About the Ram Pickup
The Dodge RAM is a series of full-size and heavy-duty pickup trucks that have been on the market since 1980.
The series proved so popular that Dodge decided to start their own sub-brand called RAM Trucks in 2010. The range now offers a number of pickup options.
There have been five generations since the initial debut, with the latest iteration being released in 2019. RAM Trucks currently manufactures four different models, similar to the Ford F-Series and Chevrolet Silverado series.
In their long run on the market, RAM pickups have most often suffered from fault code P0157. This code indicates that the second oxygen sensor in the second bank of the engine is suffering a low voltage.
Any oxygen sensor issue is likely the result of a failing sensor. However, there can also be electrical issues in the sensor circuit.
Another issue that owners have had to deal with is P0480, which is logged when the cooling fan 1 control circuit has some issue. This is related to the A/C condenser.
One of the most common causes of this problem is a relay problem. In most cases, this will require owners to replace the relay itself. However, there may be additional electrical faults causing the issue.
Fault code P0456 is a code that has plagued a wide range of American vehicles. This code is logged when a small leak has been detected in the EVAP system.
Most of the time, this is simply the result of a poor seal from the fuel cap. This can be caused by a loose or defective gas cap. Other possible causes can be faulty components in the EVAP system.
